A progressive school dedicated to its mission will inevitably provide evidence of characteristics particular to itself. Thus, at a school board meeting in the early 1990’s, the pertinent question was raised: “What do people recognise and appreciate about our school?” An immediate answer was offered, “There has always been a particular togetherness and friendliness at Inch”.
Those two words, togetherness and friendliness coupled with a strong tradition of learning in the school formed the basis for our motto, as Gaeilge, aontas- cairdeas- oideas. This motto was incorporated into the school crest which was designed by local artist Peadar Mc Namara. Pupils and staff aspire to fulfil this motto in their daily school activities and interactions, thereby helping to ensure that the school memories of those that pass through our school are positive and warmly recalled.
